Piper books offers biographies for youngsters that engage their attention and rekindle an interest in historical figures. The book has 38 illustrations (some black and white, some with added blue color).  This volume was acquired from a Catholic School auction upon their closure. Has been kept in climate controlled non-smoking home.

Includes author's note that the contents were based upon (and with permision from) researcher Edward W. Lawson who made multiple informational gathering trips to Spain. Includes a pronunciation guide in the back as well.

Written at a youngsters level, children have the opportunity to relive history and understand more about the events that shaped world exploration. Out-of-print and hard to find, this book would make a valuable addition to a home or school library. It would also serve as a wonderful supplement to any World History course.
