- This is a Sturmey Archer 3 speed trigger shifter with original shift cable, pulley and fulcrum.
- They all came from a 1964 boys 26" middleweight 3 speed Tiger.
- The cable will fit any Schwinn boys 26" 3 speed middleweight frame.
- The shift cables were sold by length in the day. Different Schwinn models, girls or boys or size took a different length cable. All of the boys middleweights took an 18" x 52". 52 is the total length. 18 is the length of the housing. The NOS original 18" x 52" cables are long gone. I have not seen one since I started restoring Schwinn Corvettes in 2005. The alternative to an original cable is the Universal Cable. It ruins a restoration. There is a bolt and clamp down by the indicator chain. You also need to find some original housing. When I see a restoration with a Universal cable I stop looking right then. It reeks of amateur.
- This cable has original grey housing. The cable itself is coated. Best of all it has the original brass end piece that screws on to the indicator chain. A used cable looks much better than a new universal.
- Sturmey Archer from England calls the wheel a pully. They call the clamp a fulcrum. The fulcrum has a metal insert, which is better than the plastic one. The plastic ones are usually cracked.
