TCP is a conceptual art piece investigating value and open-market dynamics. Founded April 2020.

Today you are bidding on an original, one-of-a-kind, Jaromir Jagr oil painting on authentic 1990-91 O-Pee-Chee OPC Premier Rookie trading card #50 (RC).

About The Currency Project

The Currency Project is a conceptual art project conceived and executed by two contemporary artists (J. Lombardi & A. Mazid). The project explores themes surrounding economics, open markets, value exchange, value creation, trading cards and contemporary art.

The original concept behind TCP was to create a unique approach to community empowerment, market value interpretation, and transparent value exchange between individuals. By doing so, the project aims to make art more democratically accessible to a global audience.

Each handcrafted artwork features a holographic authentication serial number, signature, and date on the back. Upon conclusion of each auction, each artwork becomes a part of the “currency” and is archived in The Currency Project’s general ledger, which can be found online at www.zeptos.org.
