WALTHER Volume III 1908-1980 HB Reference Book (1981) by James L. Rankin

FOREWORD

Walther Volume III, 1908-1980 covers most of the Walther pistols from 1908-1980. It begins with the Model 1, manufactured in 1908 and continues through the Model 9. The prototype Walthers leading up to and during the Model's PP, PPK and P.38 production are presented along with the Models MP and AP. The HP, Mod. P.38 and P.38 series is discussed along with the World War II prototypes. Again, the 1932-1936 Olympias are featured along with starter and flare pistols. Model's PP and PPK are updated along with various markings, inscriptions and mechanical changes found on them.

Volume III continues with the post war period in which Walther combined with the firms of Manurhin and Hammerli, and then the continuation of the Walther fortunes with their firm at Ulm, West Germany. There is also a complete coverage of the Walther pistols of the last twenty years. This volume concludes with a section on holsters, grips, and magazines found with many of the Walther models.
