3L Passiflora 'Caerulea' Blue Passion Flower Approximately 90cm.

This plant/cultivar has been awarded the RHS Award of Garden Merit because it has proved to be reliable in appropriate conditions and a good performing plant.

Passion flower, Passiflora caerulea, is an exotic-looking climber, bearing evergreen, deeply lobed, dark green glossy leaves, from which large white flowers with central filaments of purple, blue and white appear from July to September, followed by egg-shaped, orange-yellow fruit. Vigorous and trouble-free, it will quickly cover a sunny wall or fence, and tolerates a bit of shade

Suitable for: Full sun to very light shade on a wide range of soil conditions, except extremely dry. Normally hardy.

Height and Spread in 10 years: 5m x 5m (16ft x 16ft) protrudes 30cm (12in) in support.

Planting: Soak the rootball before planting. Plant in a hole twice the diameter of the rootball or pot. Mix an organic soil improver and general fertiliser with the infill soil. Water regularly until established.

Care: Will need tying for support. Every 5-6 years, in Spring, all branches can be cut within 8cm of ground level and will quickly rejuvenate with better foliage and flowers.
