This lot contains 250 O-Pee-Chee hockey cards from 1968-69, 1969-70 and 1970-71. Highlights include the ROOKIE CARDS of Tony Esposito (1969-70 #138) and Brad Park (1970-71 #67) plus other stars including Bobby Orr, Bobby Hull, Gordie Howe, Terry Sawchuk and others.
Condition is mixed/varied. Please read each season's item description for a more detailed composite. The full year-by-year breakdown is as follows:
1968-69 OPC HOCKEY (52 cards) WHITE RC, UNGER RC, GOLDSWORTHY RC++
Those with an asterisk (*) are low grade. Please note, it is very common for cards from this year to have print/roller lines on front. This is a factory/printing flaw and not one caused by human hands. With this duly noted, the rest range from VG or VG/EX to EX, EX+ or EX-MT with decent to nice colors and gloss.
This group includes the following cards:
#4 (creasing but corners are VG/EX) 27, 36, 37 Bill White RC, 42*, 47*, 65*, 66, 81*, 85*, 86, 87, 90, 92, 96*, 101*, 102, 103 (x2), 104 Andy Bathgate (x2) one is lower grade, one has glue spots on back but retains a clean front with VG corners, 105 (x2) one has edge wear, 106*, 113 (x2), 117*, 120, 132*, 135, 142 Gary Unger RC, 146, 147, 148 Bill Goldsworthy RC (crease across one corner, print/roller line, corners are VG to VG/EX), 151*, 152 (x2) one is low grade but the other is EX-MT, 154*, 156, 157, 160, 168, 170, 173 (x2) one low grade but the other is EX+, 178*, 185 (x2) one has a piece of tape on back, 193, 195* (back damage), 196 (x2) one has noticeable surface wear around the edges but the image is clear with original gloss (VG corners). The other example shows a bit of surface wear on one border but retains a clear image with VG/EX corners.
1969-70 OPC HOCKEY (118 cards) BOBBY ORR, BOBBY HULL, TONY ESPOSITO RC + MORE
The vast majority of the cards from this year are lower grade due to varying degrees of creasing/corner wear. However, the Bobby Orr (#24) and Tony Esposito RC (#138) are both decent! Regardless of individual state, most retain decent to nice colors and gloss. The full breakdown is as follows:
#5 (x2), 6 Yvon Cournoyer (x2), 13, 21, 23, 24 Bobby Orr: Minor edge wear along the top. Upper corners are VG/EX. Bottom corners are closer to EX. Clear/clean image with nice colors and gloss, 25, 26 Johnny Bucyk (x2) one low grade, one has surface wear w/ VG corners, 27 Ken Hodge, 29, 37 Rod Gilbert (x2), 42 Jean Ratelle, 45 (x2), 48, 49, 51 Dave Keon (x2), 53, 58 (x2), 60, 61 Frank Mahovlich, 67, 68 (x2), 69, 70 Bobby Hull (crease at mid left, soft corners but card retains nice colors/gloss) 71, 72 (x2), 79 (x2), 80, 83 (x2), 84, 85, 88 Doug Favell RC (x2): One has surface wear on left side front (EX corners). The other has pen marks on front (above right side of head) with soft corners, 94, 95, 96, 98, 100, 103, 105 (x2), 106, 108, 111, 115 (x2), 122, 124, 128, 130, 131 (x2), 133 (x2), 134 (x2), 135, 138 Tony Esposito RC: Visibly off center side to side but decent top to bottom. Some surface wear visible on bottom border but rest of card including image is clean/clear. EX-MT or better corners, 142, 143, 145 (x3), 154 Bryan Hextall RC (x2), 156, 159, 161, 166, 167, 168, 171, 175 (x3), 176 (x2), 179, 181, 184 (x2), 187 Johnny Bower (x3): One low grade. One VG/EX arguably EX. One has heavy surface wear along the right side but retains a clear image with reasonably sharp corners, 188 (x4), 189 Terry Sawchuk, 191 (x2), 192, 195, 196 (x4) one has a numbered stamp on back, 197 (x2), 201 Derek Sanderson, 202 (x2), 203 (x2), 204, 214 Phil Esposito TW (heavy surface wear on front but corners are EX-MT), 228 Norris trophy w/ Phil Esposito "Yellow Script" on back (low grade).
