Watercolour Artist Thomas Mortimer was active at the end of the 19th, beginning of the 20th century.He was mainly known as a marine and coastal artist, painting seascapes around the British isles. This bucolic, countryside scene with hints of sepia, shows a small flock of sheep at pasture in open countryside with narrow pathways and tall woodlands. Beautifully detailed with hints of a setting sun to the orang sky. Signed in the bottom right corner, framed in narrow, gilt wood and mounted in decorated cream.
