Auctioned without reserve is this lovely antique, Art Deco sapphire and diamond ring.  This ring features a platinum head with a 14K white gold shank.  The top is set with twelve old mine cut diamonds, each weighing approximately 0.12 carats.  There are also six diamonds of approximately .01ct - three on each shoulder of the ring.  Total diamond weight is estimated at 1.50 carats.

The sapphire center stone is a round cabochon-cut.  It is of natural creation and is a dark midnight blue in color.  It measures 7.22mm long by 7.18mm wide and 4.59mm deep.  By formula, it weighs approximately 2.50 carats, giving this ring a total approximate carat weight of 4.00.  The sapphire does show some small surface abrasions.

This gorgeous ring is a size 7.75 on the mandrel but fits like an 8 due to the large open gallery underneath.  Gross weight of the piece is 5.0 grams.  All of the diamonds in this ring are near-colorless and range in clarity from VS2-SI2.
