Here are two transitional planes from an estate, both for parts or restoration. Included are these:
- Stanley Bailey No. 27 plane--measures 15" long X 2 5/8" wide. It has NO blade, chipper, or tote. The knob is a little beat up but sound. The throat is good, and the sole can be cleaned up. Japanning is fair.
- Stanley Eagle No. 31 plane--measures 21 1/4" long X 3 1/8" wide. It needs a knob, tote, blade, and chipper. The japanning is not so good. The Eagle logo is clear. There is some staining on the wood base, but the throat is good. The tape on this plane with the two labels was on the plane when I found it, so I do not know if they are accurate.
Both of these planes came from an estate, and I know very little about them other than what the pictures show. Please refer to them. If you need some parts for a No. 27 or a No. 31, then maybe you can use these.
