This is a unique paper back book giving an 'Illustrated history of the Isle of Wight Pop Festivals, dating back to the hype of the late 1960's.

Originally sponsored by the Isle of Wight Indoor Swimming Pool Association many acts visited the last weekend of August 1968 for a one day event at Godshill.

Acts featured Tyrannouauraus Rex ( as they were then known),Smile, The Move, The Pretty Little things, Jefferson Airplane and others.

1969 it relocated to the Woodside Wootton where amongst others Bob Dyan appeared.

Then in 1970 THE BIG ONE.. at Afton Down Freshwater; from Wednesday through to Sunday

Acts included :- Judas Jump, Kris Kristofferson, Supertramp, Black Widow, Groundhogs, Arrival, Lighthouse, Chicago, Family,

Procol Harum, Mungo Jerry, Joni Mitchell, Tiny Tim, Emerson Lake and Palmer, The Doors, The Who, Donovan, Moody Blues, Jethro Tull and Jimi Hendrix.

In all this will bring back memories to thoughs who around that time. For others of this era what they missed from the ORIGINAL POP FESTIVALS on the Isle of Wight
