ATTENTION!

This is a waterslide decal,

NOT a “peel & stick” sticker.

It is not a thick “model car” decal.

This is a PREMIUM waterslide decal produced exclusively for guitar restoration, printed with premium inks lithographed onto a DELICATE EXTRA THIN decal film for minimal “witness” lines.

The thin decal film can rip if handled aggressively during application!

The decal has received a “mist” coat of polyurethane sealer to protect the ink from scratching during application.

Successful application requires willingness to follow application instructions, patience, and skill.

I DO NOT GUARANTEE SUCCESSFUL APPLICATION OF THIS DECAL.

& DO NOT OFFER REPLACEMENTS OR REFUNDS FOR APPLICATION FAILURES.

PLEASE FOLLOW APPLICATION DIRECTIONS TO THE LETTER, ESPECIALLY IF YOU BELIEVE YOU ARE AN EXPERT WITH WATERSLIDE DECALS!

If you feel you are not capable of performing this application successfully, request cancellation of this order BEFORE the decal is mailed, or return the decal unused when you receive it and request a refund.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS:

EXTREME CARE MUST BE TAKEN TO INSURE PROPER APPLICATION!

1) Clean and dry the surface where decal is to be applied. Make sure wood is sealed with polyurethane or lacquer. DECAL CAN NOT BE APPLIED TO RAW WOOD!

2) trim the decal to the size you desire

3) Place decal in bowl of WARM (not hot) water for 20 to 30 seconds

4) CAREFULLY, CAREFULLY, CAREFULLY, GENTLY, GENTLY, GENTLY SLIDE the decal from one end off the blue backing paper onto surface of project (you are NOT LIFTING IT OFF! You are SLIDING IT OFF!). If the decal seems to resist sliding, DO NOT TUG AND PULL IT!!!! Re-submerse the decal in the bowl of water for another 10 seconds and try again. THE DECAL MUST EASILY SLIDE FROM ONE END OFF THE BLUE PAPER BACKING!!! If you tug it or pull it YOU WILL RIP THE DECAL!!!

5) CAREFULLY use tissues to PAT DRY (NOT RUB DRY) and blot/remove excess water from UNDERNEATH and AROUND decal. BE CAREFUL NOT TO SCRATCH INK!!!

6) allow to DRY for 12 HOURS

7) spray clear coat on decal with polyurethane or lacquer or nitro (DO NOT USE WIPE ON FINISH!). Recommend several very light first coats to build up some protection for the decal. IF YOU APPLY A HEAVY WET COAT THAT LAYS ON TOP OF THE DECAL THE FINISH WILL MELT THE DECAL AND RUIN IT...
