This is an unmarked Slingerland Maybell banjouke. It’s got the exact peghead shape, correct number & style of j-hooks & the deep 2 3/4 inch hoop. It’s set up with black nylon strings & an old Grover bridge. It’s got a tone hoop under the old calfskin head, as pictured.

This banjouke is loud & has a crisp tone.

If you know anything about openback banjos, the tone hoop is a key element of great tone.

The tuners are in good working shape, possibly originals.

It’s about 21 in. long & the head is about 7 in.

Look at the pictures & judge its condition.

There’s a few minor scrapes & scratches that you can see; you should expect these signs of usage on an instrument that’s a century old.

This banjouke is ready to play.

Thanks for looking.
