Elliott of London Westminster/Whittington Chiming 8-Day Mantel Clock

This is model #5426 (as shown in the catalog pic). This is a circa 1965–66 clock. The movement is lacquered which was done on earlier versions (1960s).

The case is walnut and is in very good condition and has cosmetic wear that comes from regular use as shown on images (please check pics for condition). The case measures 15.5” H x 8.75” W x 6” D.

The movement is running and chiming. It seems to be keeping good time, but will probably need some adjusting after shipment. This movement uses a platform escapement and does not require a perfectly level surface (within reason). The lettering on the back of the movement for chime select is missing. All the way counterclockwise on the select wheel is Westminster. All the way clockwise is Whittington. Chimes sound good.

Clock has automatic night time silence - 11:00 pm to 7:00 am.

The clock face and dial are in good shape, but the ‘Elliott London’ wording is missing above the hands. On the dial below number 6 (VI), the word ‘Made in England’ is visible.

Comes with key (not original)

Overall a nice clock from a highly regarded clock maker.
