The Great Pyramid of Giza is the largest Egyptian pyramid and the oldest and most intact of the 7 Wonders of the Ancient World. The pyramid was built roughly 4,500 years ago for the Fourth Dynasty pharaoh Khufu. Pharaohs were believed to turn into gods in the afterlife, so pyramids were grand tombs that contained goods that would sustain them in the next life. There are many theories on how the pyramid was built but experts cannot agree on one, which adds an air of mystery to this incredible structure.
