-Previous owner of this volume, Stanley Gilliam, was a journalist and also did hundreds of book reviews. He signed his name to the bottom of the front free end-page and also left a newspaper clipping near the back of his book review, please see last 3 photos...

***TAIPAN-1966 a true 1st/1st still in good solid condition with minor shelf wear to the boards and dust jacket...

-Binding and pages tight, strong binding, no loose pages. Red top-stain still looks great with only some minor blemishes, nicely done by the publisher... On the lower part of front free end-page previous owner, Stanley Gilliam, wrote his name in cursive... Also, at the back of the book he left a newspaper clipping of his positive book review of "Tai-pan". At one time it looks like it was pasted down, but not anymore. Clipping is loose and can easily be removed. And there is no stickiness or residue whatsoever. The faded imprint that can be seen is completely dry...

-No other markings, clean pages throughout. Interior of volume is amazingly clean for almost 60 years old... -Volume does have some minor shelf wear to the boards and some minor foxing/blemishes to the outside pages. Please see photos for further description...

-Dust jacket has some wear and tear, several very, very small blackish stains near the top, minor chipping in a few areas and some minor fading/discoloration, but is fully intact, not price clipped and nicely wrapped in mylar covering the entire jacket!
