This is an etching by well known Massachusetts artist Philip Leslie Hale 1865-1931, known for his landscapes, figure,
genre, portrait painting and teaching. This is somewhat rare because he wasn’t known for doing many etchings. The
etching is a beautifully done profile of a young woman, pencil signed, with the plate marks measuring 7 7/8” x 5 7/8”,
in a 14 1/2” x 11 1/2” frame. The etching is in good condition, but does have a minor small water stain at the very bottom.
