(listed 5/9/24)

Up for your consideration is one Snapon KR420 two-draw middle chest that dates somewhere between 1948 and 1950 from what I could decipher. It’s OBVIOUSLY got some age and patina over all the surfaces and it’s about as good looking as currently possible after all these years. Hours were spent cleaning it inside and out with the slides removed and cleaned. NO-it’s not ready for a white-glove inspection but it IS ready for a life of better treatment and maybe some paint unless you have a Snapon set that will match the age of this beauty. (See my other listing with the same model box in slightly better shape).

The box has obviously got scratches, some dents in the same areas of the exterior. Somehow-with as much suffrage this box was forced through in its life-it’s actually in good shape minus the paint and overall visual appearance that may deter some people. There’s surface rust that has been run over with “000” steel wool as that was the least abrasive “mechanical” cleaner along with Simple Green that was making this box come out.

The corner-edge protector from the left front corner is absent and you’d probably want to fabricate a replacement-but obviously a box would sit atop without issue unless you’re using this as a tool chest in a mobile rig (yeah right!)

The original slides are in really good condition showing almost no wear or irregular slop. And with fine without any lubricants.

There are no dividers in the drawers but there’s obviously wear and still some remnants of glue possibly from liners that have long been absent. The lock is missing from the lower drawer and I do not have it or the key for the top drawer.

Again-I do NOT have the keys and my eyes aren’t good enough to see the small letter/number codes on the original locks.

Overall-this would be a great box for fresh paint-or use as it is with some vintage Snapon tools/accessories or collectibles.

This needs a new home-but a proper one. The box is photographed under LED lighting time highlight all it’s scars and earned beauty.

My price includes shipping to anywhere in the lower 48 via UPS, unless somehow USPS or FedEx is cheaper. Careful and experienced shipping will ensure it gets to you just as you see it-no more or less scratches than seen here.
