This listing is for the three paintings that you see in the photos. I purchased them at an estate sale in Oregon where I was not told their history. They are in the style of Alfonse Mucha. I do not know if they are copies of his work or only in the style. Each one is signed "D. G. S." "Benny" is written faintly in the margin of larger one near the upper right hand corner. I am wondering if they could be paint by numbers paintings. I found a number printed in the margin of one of the smaller ones. The number looks like it might be "84". Also, I found the number "6" showing faintly under the paint on the larger one. Those numbers show in the close-ups.  If they are paint by number, I have a feeling that they are pre 1951.

The larger painting measures close to 15 3/4 by 12 inches. Two smaller paintings each measure close to14 by 10 inches. They are painted on a relatively thin cardboard that in my many years of dealing art I did not remember seeing before. The front of the boards have a light texture that is sort of like canvas. The back of the boards are covered with thin very pale yellow paper.  I am guessing that they were painted sometime during the first half of the 20th century. I leave it to the buyer to decide how old they are.

The condition is much like you see it in the photos. The boards have wear along the edges and at the corners. The larger paintings has 3 tears along the edge that you can see in the photos. Two of the tears are at  the ends of a bend that has creased the board and cracked the paint some across the upper left hand corner. A photo shows how part of the bottom section of the board of the larger one is distorted so that it does not like completely flat without some pressure applied to it. I count about 15 small or tiny spots on the larger one where the paint is missing leaving a white area that has a less shiny texture than the other paint. . Under strong magnification, it looks to me like the paint skipped over those areas. In some cases it looks like a little paint might of popped off. I am not sure what the nature is those areas.  I see about 7 similar spots on one smaller painting and about 3 on the other.  Generally,  the paint on all three paintings looks stable. The paintings might benefit from a careful cleaning. The backs of the boards are discolored from what I imagine to be age and they have some spots of paint or soil. Otherwise, they paintings are as shown. My photos should give you a good idea of their general condition.

I guarantee paintings to be as described and represented by the photos. The photos are part of the description; please look at all of them. I allow three business days for shipping, but I usually ship the same or next day if possible. Please note that the lighting in my photos is uneven, and there might be shadows or reflections. The colors on my monitor look close to but not exactly like the actual colors; different monitors may show different colors. I often say that an item measures or weighs "approximately" because no measurements are exact, and some things are difficult to measure.

I like to leave feedback after I know that the item has arrived and that the buyer is satisfied. I reserve the right to cancel any bids without explanation. I sometimes purchase signature delivery for my more valuable packages because of the possibility of them being stolen off of a porch or damaged by weather. I often, but not always, ship the same or next day. Often, I have a double-walled box custom made for larger items, which might result in a short delay. When I use packing peanuts, they are usually made from biodegradable materials.

Please email me with any questions or suggestions. I do not ship on weekends, and I might not be available to answer emails on weekends.
