An original desktop lawyer's ruler from 1800's Upper Canada.

Smooth and perfectly cylindrical, used at desk for drawing straight lines and parallel lines.

I have read these were used by architects but the old collector I bought it from in 1984 introduced it as a "lawyers rule".
