If you use a synthetic wig, acrylic eyes (or very low price: glass iris on white base) you are causing the market value of your old doll to drop sharply.

The pair of eyes shown, and in stock, measure 22mm externally and the iris measures 12mm (the iris should be a tiny bit larger than the height of the eye socket opening.)
