German WW2 M40 Helmet.  Outer shell has a field gray finish, @90% with no significant dings or dents. Liner pins are tight to the shell.   Faint DD which was probably intentional per the 1940 directive. Inside has th same finish marked with what looks like DN 217 on the center rer flange and a faint "Q 62" on the right inner flange.  Looks like an oriignal liner with the leather chafed on the rim in places but still serviceable,  I suspect the chinstrap is post 45.  DD M40s are relatively uncommon as that was the time period when the directive initially came out about removing the national colors shield. These Quist helms always seem more solid than the average helmet from that era.  Domestic SH&I will be $22.00
