This collectable scale model of the Herschel Wegmann 4-6-4 locomotive - 3-904-011 - is still in its original packaging (see photos) and is sold with an Atlas Editions booklet providing key information about this locomotive, including technical characteristics.

In the mid 1930s, all the major countries of the world were in a race for industrial power. The railways were part of this due to their great public popularity and for many countries the performance of their railways was part of their brand image. Germany was part of this and the Reich demanded trains that were impressive in terms of their looks, their fittings, their technical design and their speed. In 1935, the WEGMANN streamlined train with its special locomotive was a sensation when it reached 116 mph in test on the Berlin – Dresden line.

With its detailed design and accurate representation, this model is perfect for display. The scale model is for adult collectors - it is not suitable for young children due to the presence of small detachable parts.
