The time has now come to part with my beautiful Mazda RX7. This car, K27 PLY, is well known within the 1st gen RX7 owners clubs within the UK and has a superb back story and provenance.

The car was built on 25th July 1985 and is chassis number JMZFB131200705572. Right hand drive production ended on chassis number JMZFB131200705582 making this car no.10 from the end of the build (and reputedly built on the last day of production) The car was shipped to Mazda UK and then to a Mazda main dealer in London, B&H Motors of Barnet.

Due to it being so close to the end of the build the dealer thought that it was a good investment and kept it unregistered, under a sheet, still in it’s shipping wax, in their dealership until 1992 when spooked by an upcoming change to emission laws, they decided to register and sell it hence the ‘K’ plate
It is widely accepted to be the lastest registered UK market car in the UK today. The paperwork included to back this up comprises of the original punch sheets from when the car came down the line in Hiroshima in July 1985, the shipping docket, shipping note from Mazda UK to the dealer and a letter from the dealer confirming they stored the car unregistered until 1992 The car was then sold to a well known owners club member who kept it for 27 years before selling it to me 5 years ago.

It has only been offered for sale 3 times in its 39 year life. It has always been garaged. It is finished in the stunning colour combination of Sunbeam silver metallic coachwork with wine coloured interior.

The car also comes with 2 sets of keys plus all the original handbooks in their wallet. The car has a very comprehensive service/maintenance history and the mileage currently stands at 59136 genuine miles
I paid cash for the car back in 2019 and it's HPI clear.... please feel free to HPI it yourself. It was mot’d last weekend and passed with no advisories, you can check its mot history online.

Amazingly, the car has had it’s engine oil changed every 3000 miles from new and has always been driven sympathetically by it’s 2 mature owners, this has undoubtedly help preserve the condition of the engine which was compression tested last weekend and still puts out the following figures:

Front rotor: 7.4, 7.4, 7.4 bar
                   7.6, 7.6, 7.5 Kg2

Rear Rotor: 6.7, 7.1, 6.8 bar
                    6.9, 7.3, 7.0 Kg2

Although the car is in lovely condition for it's age, it is 39 year old and has a few wear and tear marks commensurate with its age and mileage notably a slight area of lacquer rubbed through on the roof, a crack to the bottom corner of the windscreen caused by a stone chip (not within the drivers field of vision so not an mot issue) and rubbing to the piping on the drivers seat caused by the seat belt.

This is lovely example of the increasingly rare 1st generation RX7, it starts on the button, runs great and is ready to be driven and enjoyed.

Viewing the car... The car can be viewed at my home address in Stafford ( 5 mins from junction 13 M6) I've highlighted the issues above that I'm aware of with the car but I'm not a car dealer or a professional car mechanic. The car is 39 years old and there may be things that need doing to it which I am unaware of. I've been completely honest in my description of the car and the known faults. Any test or inspection is welcome before purchase. I will take buyers for a drive in it to demonstrate the car but any buyers wishing to drive it themselves must provide me with proof of insurance before they get behind the wheel.( no exceptions)

The important bit..... please read... As stated above, this car is my own private motor car, I'm not a dealer or a trader and this is a classic car that is 39 years old so I can't offer any warranty or guarantee with it...... you are very welcome to come and view the car and have it professionally inspected but once you buy it, you own it. Don't expect to bring it back a week later if something packs up on it, that's the nature of owning 39 year old classic cars and although I may be sympathetic, I won't be taking the car back or offering restitution.... THE CAR IS SOLD AS SEEN WITH NO WARRANTY IMPLIED OR GIVEN.

The car can be viewed at my home address in Stafford ( 5 mins from junction 13 M6) and payment is STRICTLY CASH OR BANK TRANSFER ON COLLECTION. I will hold the car for 14 days on a non refundable £200 cash deposit but after that, I'll re-advertise it if it's not collected and paid for. Please don't be surprised or offended if you don't receive a reply to your message that contains phrases like: 'will you take £12,000 for it?', 'what's your lowest price?', 'do you want to swap it for my ( enter any number of things)'. I am negotiable on the price but I'm not going to knock thousands off it and I'm looking for a straight cash sale, not a part ex or a swap. I'm in no rush to sell and I'm not desperate for the money so I'll only deal with serious buyers who come and see the car and make sensible offers having viewed it.

Thanks for looking, Serious buyers, call Ian on 07746 432145 to view the car.
