Please note- The background color is a dark maroon or wine color and not red. Up for sale today is a vintage never used 1940's sofa slipcover. It is all cotton, medium weight with a flat weave texture. This is not nubby barkcloth. The pattern and colors are bright an vibrant as the day it was made. It is in pristine condition. This is truly a museum piece! It is shown on a loveseat sofa, but it does not fit it perfectly. I'm not sure what size sofa this was meant for, but I do know that old sofas from the 40's and 50's were much smaller. I did lay it flat for good but not exact measurements. When laying flat, it measures about 96" x 90". It still has the original tag. I have two more slipcovers in different patterns that were also not used. I hate to reiterate this, but PLEASE ASK QUESTION PRIOR TO PURCHASE!
