ABOUT SARCAR

History

HISTORY

SARCAR was established in Geneva in 1948 by Carlos Sarzano, a watch enthusiast and well-respected figure in the watch industry. Prior to starting the brand, Sarzano worked for a number reputable Swiss watch brands, representing them in Spain and Italy. Two decades earlier, during the course of his work, Sarzano chanced upon a watch facility that was put up for sale. He promptly acquired the factory with the intention of starting his own brand.

Sarzano eventually started SARCAR with the vision to create the world’s most luxurious timepieces, which combine the most exquisite and precious stones with innovative designs and top-quality craftsmanship. He also emphasised on the importance of creative autonomy, famously proclaiming that the company must always be “large enough to be strong, yet small enough to be free”. Today, SARCAR is a globally renowned creator of highly exclusive, bejewelled artisan timepieces with authorised retailers all over the world. The passing decades may have seen SARCAR evolve to greater heights, but the brand remains deeply committed to Sarzano’s original vision and values that first inspired its birth.

What makes SARCAR special?

Fine craftsmanship and sophisticated technology find themselves working hand-in-hand in all of the timeless masterpieces from SARCAR. Think of elements like rotating diamonds, rare gemstones, and precious metals.

Amongst the handful of high-end watchmakers in the world, SARCAR’s team knew that they needed something to set them apart. And set themselves apart, they did – through bold creative exploits. Basically, SARCAR is known for going where no other watchmaker has trodden, especially in terms of artistry, craftsmanship, and source material.

Mass production or trends is just not something SARCAR does. Instead, they aim for individuality and personality for every piece. With this philosophy, many of their watches are limited edition, heightening the sense of prestige and exclusivity associated with every piece.

SARCAR and Leong Poh Kee

Leong Poh Kee’s relationship with SARCAR goes way back to the 1970s. As an independent watch brand with a unique identity, SARCAR knows its market is where people are willing to pay for exclusivity and exceptionality – and Asia was one of them.

Both Leong Poh Kee and SARCAR share the same commitment to promoting unique artisanal timepieces and valuing the human relations of business-making. This common vision has kept the partnership going strong till today.

As SARCAR’s main distributor in Singapore, Hong Kong, and other Asian cities, Leong Poh Kee has brought SARCAR watches closer to its audience here. In Singapore, you can find SARCAR watches at Leong Poh Kee’s showroom at Beach Road. Just drop us a visit, and we will be happy to show you some of SARCAR’s wonderful timepieces.

Whether you are a watch collector, someone who appreciates exquisite art, or are looking for a valuable keepsake as a family heirloom, SARCAR watches are worth your attention.
