Up on the auction block is a great pair of Antique Edwardian Period Cordovan Leather Lace Up Boots that are about the US size 8AA. The numbers inside the shafts read as follows: 265 3 53555 and underneath these is 2125. On the left boot at the top is gold printed "O'Donnells". The leather is in excellent shape with some creasing. There is some scuffing on the toe tips. There is a small slit in the top inside shaft of the left boot. Also there are nicks on the top of the right boot toe and some cracking in the rear ankle area. The external seam work is very intact. These are very lightly worn boots.
The inside cotton twill lining is in real excellent condition. Very clean and all the internal seam work is intact. The leather insoles are very clean and unworn and both have off-white/yellowing leather composite heel pads that show no wear. The leather banding across the high top right boot is in good condition, poor and decomposing in the top left boot. The leather banding along the eyelets is in fair condition, though, de-composing. There are 17 pairs of external eyelets to lace up. The leather tongues are in excellent condition and have full felt/wool backing on them.
The bottom leather soles are in top notch excellent shape, complete with leather over soles and very minimal wear. The wooden French Spool Heels are very solid and have full leather heel caps on them. These are an excellent choice for wardrobe or theater use. To be worn, new laces are required.
