I have been fortunate enough to acquire a number of unused and boxed electronics by the British company Benson, particularly portable radios, cassette players and TV’s. They come from the estate of the founder of the company who kept one example of each model, including pre-production samples, that they released to the market during the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. They have been kept carefully in his private stores and finally need new homes.
It’s always nice to find vintage machines that have survived as-new and untouched like this - every bedroom had a clock-radio in the 80’s but most are long gone. This one is a good example of the full-sized, full-featured models that were most popular and I hope it will finally get some use and be enjoyed after all these years or given a place on a shelf in a nice collection.
This radio is unopened and unused and so has no wear or damage at all. If the new owner finds any faults, I will certainly accept a return, no questions.
The packaging has some light wear only but no damage or stains and remains clean and strong. The power cord has no plug fitted from the factory (many items were sold without plugs in the 1980’s) but I will supply a new wall plug with the radio.
