A rare Baldwin Brass convertible Chowning's Tavern Colonial Williamsburg hurricane sconce. The sconce is modeled after the ones in Chowning's Tavern in Colonial Williamsburg. The parts switch out so it can be used with or without the hurricane shade. The glass is just over 8.5 inches tall with the top being just over 4.5 inches diameter. There is some old wax residue inside the fixture, some light scratches/wear to the metal, and a few tiny nibbles to the very bottom of the shade. It is marked EB for Baldwin from their James River collection. I have another one of these sconces listed separately that has a slightly darker tone to the brass. Please see the photos for details.
