This is the handwritten vellum Will and Probate Document of:

Henry Alden of the Parish of Elmley Lovett in the County of Worcester “being sick in body but of sound and perfect memory.”

WILL.

Measures 11 inches by 9 inches.

Dated 6 October 1669.

The Will mentions furniture, household items, cattle and money.

Henry Alden’s son Hugh Alden is to “have and enjoy my Messuage and Tenement after the decease of his mother.”

PROBATE DOCUMENT.

Measures 8½ inches by 4 inches.

Contents written in Latin. I cannot read the document.

Dated 19 May 1670. (I think this is what it says).

Both documents are attached together with the original vellum tab.

CONDITION.  Both documents complete. One tiny pin hole (contents not affected). Otherwise no holes or tears. A few small marks and areas of darkening but good clean condition for documents of this age. Ink clear and free of fading. Retains the vellum tab but the seal is lacking.
