The new Super Helical Shortwave Antenna works with almost any radio in almost any situation! Sony, Eton, Degen, Realistic DX394 & DX160, Sangean, Drake, Icom, Hallicrafters, Panasonic,  National or Grundig, it really doesn’t matter, because all these great brands of radios work equally well with the Super Helical Shortwave antenna.

This Super Helical Shortwave Antenna provides users with a practical antenna that really pulls in signals. Even if you live in an apartment and can’t put up a permanent outside antenna to surf the airwaves, the Super Helical Shortwave Antenna will improve your reception! It is made of 65 feet of coil in the Slinky itself with a 30’ lead wire  made of stranded copper insulated wire(color of insulation may vary) that provides users with 90’ of pure signal capture area.

It is a NO HASSLE ANTENNA! NO SPECIAL PLUGS, LUGS OR CONNECTORS ARE NEEDED! Just clip it on the antenna terminal or telescoping rod antenna built into your radio and open up a whole new world of radio signals that just weren’t there before!

The Super Helical Shortwave Antenna comes with a plastic loops on each side of the insulators that can fit over nails, curtain rods, thumb tacks   or screws in the wall. It is easy to hang almost anywhere! The Super Helical Shortwave Antenna can be hung vertically, horizontally or even strung out across your yard.  It is easily moved and relocated when traveling in mobile homes, apartments or hotels. Of course, it can be installed outside along the side of your house or hung from the roof.

The Super Helical Shortwave Antenna uses Inductive loading to make it electrically much longer and better for SW reception all the way down to the MW/BC band and up to 30 MHZ. or above. Ham radio operators have used the Helical Inductively loaded antenna for years in various configurations when limited space has been a consideration. The first helical antennas were introduced into ham radio in the ‘60’s and sold commercially, despite what other Ebay sellers say. They were NOT the original Slinky antenna maker!!!

This design has been adapted to Shortwave Listening by an experienced Ham radio operator, who has over 50 years of antenna building experience and a FCC Amateur Extra Class License. Lowbander started building antennas back in 1961! Trust experience! Lowbander has been selling antennas here on Ebay since 1999!!

One of the most unique features of the Super Helical Shortwave Antenna is the compact nature of the design. When done using, it can be returned to its original, small size, and packed away out of sight! Maybe you have a wife or a landlord who will not tolerate wires laying all over the place or hanging out your windows! If so, the Super Helical Shortwave Antenna is a perfect fit for your location!

The Super Helical Shortwave Antenna can be configured in hundreds of ways and can be deployed to fit the unique situation at your home location. Here are just a few examples: SW listeners can deploy the Super Helical Shortwave Antenna  by hanging it off a nail or eye bolt on the side of the house or it hung from a curtain rod inside your apartment and hiding the feedline behind furniture, hanging it from the eave of your roof will provide great reception, hang it from a tree limb outside with a simple piece of string or small wire, dropping it out the window vertically, hang it to the rafters in the attic for outstanding performance from this height ! Place a nail in the door frame, arch way or any wooden area in the house and hang the Super Helical Shortwave and stretch out and connect the feed line to your radio. Another user opened his second story window and placed a nail in the window sill. He attached the Super Helical Shortwave Antenna outside and ran it down to the ground in his yard.  He then stretched out the feed line to his radio. He reported a significant improvement in signal levels over the built in telescoping rod antenna of his shortwave receiver. However, whatever configuration you choose, make sure you unroll the feedline even if you don’t need the entire length.

The only limitation is the user’s imagination!!

One inventive user of the Super Helical Shortwave Antenna learned that by laying it horizontal on the window seat it changed the signal levels and brought up some desired signals and reduced others, but most importantly it reduced the noise level and brought up signals. The result comes from changing from vertical polarization to horizontal polarization of the antenna. So, the polarization of the antenna can have a drastic effect on reception levels of signals, especially on the higher frequencies above 15 MHZ.

Simply moving to the other end of the house or apartment can sometimes make a drastic difference in the noise received or even in the strength of signals received. Every location is unique, though, so some experimentation maybe needed to get the best results.

Connection to the Radio: The Super Helical Shortwave Antenna is a NO HASSLE ANTENNA! It comes with a simple alligator clip on the end to attach right to the telescoping rod that almost every newer shortwave radio has built in it. NO SPECIAL PLUGS, LUGS OR CONNECTORS NEEDED!

Older, vintage radios with screw terminals for the antenna with find the Super Helical Shortwave Antenna is easy to use as well. Just clip it on the antenna terminal and open up a whole new world of radio signals that just weren’t there before! If the radio has a spring clip antenna connection like some  Grundig , Eton  Tecson  then cut off the alligator clip and strip 1/4 inch of the insulation away from the lead in wire and connect it to the Antenna Clip on the radio. Instructions in most manuals for the radios would refer to the Super Helical Shortwave Antenna as a high impedance antenna, so attach the alligator clip to the high impedance screw terminal if your radio has this kind of antenna connection.

Instructions will be included with the package and can be sent in PDF format also.
