NEW Lindberg 1/64 B-17 FLYING FORTRESS WW2 US Bomber
The Boeing B-17 series of bombers really need no introduction. Widely regarded as the most beloved of the big bombers employed by the USAAF in WWII, the Flying Fortress is one of the finest aircraft of its time. The ‘G’ model was produced in the largest numbers and saw service with both the USAAF and the RAF. This is the venerable 1/64th scale kit originally released by Lindberg back in the late 1950s. This current boxing looks fabulous on the shelf as the packaging really jumps out at you. A sturdy two-piece box printed in full color is where you find the kit residing. Molded in white it is molded with fine raised panel lines and small rivets. The ailerons and horizontal stabilizer are all movable as are the three turrets (nose, top and waist locations). The turbo-superchargers are molded to the wings. The main gear and tail wheel are designed to be retractable. The props are able to spin. The cowlings are one-piece affairs and have the engines molded inside of them. You do get a fairly complete cockpit and nose/bombardier area. You get seven figures in various poses and a large clear base/stand to display the model on once you complete it. New historically accurate decal markings are also included to build 1 of 3 different bombers. TWO bonus items are also in this kit: (1) 12” x 24” poster features the packaging artwork; (2) A clear plastic display stand is included to show the Fortress in flight. Add this classic Lindberg kit reissue to your collection of important WW2 aircraft!
