This is a beautiful medal depicting the USS Olympia on the obverse. The reverse indicates that this medal was struck from metal from the propeller of the ship, "which served in the Battle of Manila Bay". It is likely that a very small part of the propeller was put into the alloy that became of the planchet on which this medal was struck. Still, this is a cool relic medal.

This piece is uncirculated with a pleasing antiqued finish.
