Antique Copper Brass Plaque Rapousse Angels Cherubs Bacchus Greek Theme. Victorian Art Nouveau period.

On offer is this rare, antique, ATT. Elkington copper and brass charger/tray/plaque.

Exceptionally detailed - featuring repousse cherubs/putti doing the wine harvest with music and fun. A central figure maybe of Greek goddess theme…maybe Athena…??She is surrounded with a tooled Laurel banding. It is easy to see why Elkington was such an esteemed maker during the height of Victorian times.

In good condition - unpolished patina. Please consider photos. This antique copper and brass wall plaque features a beautifully detailed design inspired by Greek mythology. The intricate rapousse technique has been used to create angels, cherubs, and Bacchus in a Victorian style. The additional material of brass adds a touch of elegance to this original piece from the late 19th century. A thing of beauty and very accomplished workmanship.

The country of origin is most likely in the Birmingham area, and the age is estimated to be between 1850 and 1899. This plate wall plaque would make a charming addition to any collection of metalware or antiques. It is a unique and timeless piece that will be cherished for years to come.

MEASUREMENTS: 7 7/8” x 1/2”

CONDITION: It looks like it was raised up with a pedestal….now missing. The top of the plate is undamaged and could have another life as a wall plate or fitted to another suitable stand.
