Montblanc 236 Fountain Pen, 1940’s, Very Rare, Working

Here is a rare Montblanc 236 fountain pen in black celluloid with hard rubber ends. It shows some wear throughout and some discolouration to the hard rubber ends but that is not unusual for a pen of this age.

Oversized "236" from Montblanc's 23x series.
The pre-war version later became "236G" and evolved into the "246" after the war.
The intake mechanism is a telescopic piston and travels the whole length of the barrel with its new cork.
It is the same as the later piston type in that the blind cap is removed for ink uptake.
Its intake capacity is impressive, with a capacity of 2.5cc or more which exceeds that of a 146.
The nib is Montblanc  No. 6 fine/medium point.
It is a pre-war type with a "6" engraved on it to show that it is a 6 nib and it is very smooth.
This telescopic model "236", which was discontinued after only two years, is extremely rare.

The end cap is marked 236 and F, it has a fine Montblanc 6 steel nib. Length 5 1/16” and 5 15/16” posted. Overall good condition with a brand new cork installed. Thoroughly tested for functionality.
