This piece is WILD! I'm not sure I've ever seen so many prong-set rhinestones in one place. A fantastic French piece that is simply coated in sparkling rhinestones. Several rows of black rhinestones ring the outside, lightened by clear baguette-shaped rhinestones and clever open spaces. The main body of the piece shimmers with white/colorless round rhinestones, and three tear-drop-shaped rhinestones sit at the center, mirroring the spade shape of the piece. The spade or pique (in French) represents water and winter in various forms of cartomancy. Two long pins attach the piece to your clothes and fit into a catch at the base. The pin hinge is marked Déposé, which tells us this piece has a French patent. This is a spectacular and substantial piece made to be worn on furs, perfect for wear on heavier fabrics. Circa 1930.

Measurements: Brooch is quite large measuring 2.5" by 2.46", with a depth of roughly 0.82".

Condition: In great vintage condition. It appears all rhinestones are present, But there are a lot here so please review photos carefully! I  do not see any yellowing, though many clear stones have darkened, and wear can be seen with a loupe. Some verdigris can be seen with a loupe. The pins appear in fully functional condition, including their hinge. The metal shows some wear. Some spots of solder indicate this may have had a repair at some point. Used/Vintage. Always expect some wear on Vintage and Antique pieces in keeping with their age. We will note any specific damage or wear on each item.
