You are bidding on an original antique page from an illustrated newspaper that is over 160 years old. The lines are clean and bold, and it would look wonderful framed.

The engraving shows "The Friesland Dwarf". A short article to the right of the picture tells about him. His name was Jan Hannema the Friesland Dwarf, known in Holland as Admiral Van Tromp. He is a dwarf  (midget, dwarfism, Little Person) who was 28 inches tall.

The pair is shown next to an armchair and seemingly giant top hat. The caption is in French (Les Nains Chinois-- the Chinese Dwarfs).

The page measures approximately 11x16 inches. The image itself is about
6 x 8 inches. There is a caption beneath it. There is unrelated text and two other illustrations on the page that could be trimmed off if desired. THe other illustrations are of Brighton and Herefordshire.

This print will come with a Certificate of Authenticity.
