Bronze medal, France.

Minted around 1931.
Beautiful old patina.

In addition to the particularity relating to the personality represented, this brochure by Alexandre Morlon is also surprising for other reasons which deserve to be noted:

The missing “s” in the first name of Georges Faucon: civil status documents, the Official Journal as well as the military register contain this final “s”; on the other hand, the death notice published in the Rouen newspaper on November 4, 1942 ignores this. This keystroke being a special command, it is unlikely that such a typo would have escaped the editor. Was George the commonly used first name and Georges the official first name?
The dates “1924 – 1931” appearing below the legend “President of the Clerks of France”: At the death of his mother, the newspaper “Le Temps” of February 20, 1921 already specified that Georges Faucon was president of the clerks of France and of 'Algeria! So what does this period refer to?
The different finishes applied to this plaque: bronze, silvered bronze and gilded bronze. Silver and gold finishes are very rarely found on medals or plaques struck in honor of a personality. Was it about rewarding winners according to their merit during an awards ceremony?
