Havana, Cuba

Collection of 21 original maps and plans of Havana, as prepared by Major W. M. Black, Chief Engineer, Division of Cuba, for the Civil Report of the Military Governor, Major General Leonard Wood, 1900: 14 color-printed maps of Havana all based on a map by Esteban T. Pichardo, each showing a different civic project, all printed by A. Hoen & Co, Baltimore; and seven black and white maps and plans ranging from copies of historical maps to more contemporary military maps, different sizes, all with light horizontal and vertical folds as issued but somewhat flattened now, the Pichardo maps are printed on a light off-white paper and are of a more even color than they appear in these photos, the black and white maps and plans are on a more cream-colored paper; a few slight tears in the margins, occasionally stretching just into the black and white maps, some of the Pichardo maps with unevenly trimmed upper margins, a few also with some slight staining at the sheet edge, otherwise in good condition and with good color
