Description

Offered for sale is this Delft or faience pottery "Bobbejak" or tabletop gin bottle/cistern. He is dressed as Pierrot. I think this is either Dutch or Belgian pottery. The simple spigot is made of brass. The age is unknown, but all of the other examples I have found of this form have been 18th or 19th century. Please excuse the reflections in the pictures.

It is just under 12.25 inches tall.

The lid (the top of his hat) has been professionally restored - the repair is to part of the rim and to the part that sits into the bottle - I have included a picture taken under a black light so you can see exactly where the restoration is. There is a small chip to the bottom of his left foot - the tip of the pen is pointing to this. Please see the close up pictures.
