In 1989, to celebrate the 300th Anniversary of the Bill of Rights, the Royal Mint released a special Limited Issue Bill of Rights £2 Two Pound Proof Coin.

The reverse shows the Cypher of William and Mary, the House of Commons Mace and St Edward's Crown.
The obverse has a portrait of the Queen circled by the wording 'ELIZABETH II DEI GRATIA REGINA F D' with the denomination 'two pounds' designed by Raphael Maklouf.
These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
