Handspun this year by myself, using a combo of the lockspun, and my own twist on 'aura' style spinning, to create a wild and fuzzy chunky/thick and thin art yarn. I've spun individual locks leaving the tips of the locks hanging out. In 'aura' spinning you wrap the wool around your yarn intake, to create a delicate halo around the yarn as well as creating interesting twist directions and textures. When I spin yarn like this, I 'freestyle', but always making sure as much depth, texture, colour and detail into goes into every centimetre of fibre I feed into my spinning wheel. 

I've used hand dyed Lincoln Longwool, which is a medium softness and has an absoloutely stunning lustre. Lockspun yarn is my favourite way to spin gorgeous long locks, as it really bring out the fleeces wonderful character, texture, and crimp.
