CIVIL WAR US UNION NEW YORK STATE MILITIA ARTILLERY FROCK JACKET

 New York State militias and volunteers were issued distinctive uniforms instead of the US Government issued uniforms. 

The New York State Coat was adopted in April 1861 replacing the Frock Coat.
