Jane has been creating miniature redware pottery since a few years after she began crafting miniatures. Redware was part of the daily tableware in the early American colonies of the late 18th century and the early 19th century in the U.S. Her sgraffito ware is particularly special because it requires multiple layers of glaze, and then a meticulous process of scraping through the layers to create the desired design.

In this offering, we have one of Jane's redware sgraffito dinner plates, this one with a wonderful leaping deer image taken from a 19th-century plate. The leaping deer sgraffito dinner plate is 15/16" in diameter.
