I am pleased to offer a superb original postcard showing the ex White Star Line ship Nomadic I leaving Portland, Maine. Originally completed in 1891 as a livestock carrier, Nomadic transferred to the Dominion Line in 1903 to become Cornishman . For many years  she served on the Liverpool to Boston service . Great context of Portland harbour here. Nomadic's remarkable 35 year career imcluded another redeployment in 1921 when she switched to the Leyland Line. The former White Star tender Nomadic - which is a permanent museum  at Titanic Belfast- is perhaps thought of as the only Nomadic but her predecessor was a successful and long lived  ship.
