About The Artist

Painter of spooky cats and other oddities, Kahla is a fine artist and illustrator in Las Vegas, Nevada.  Her work combines traditional oil techniques with contemporary magical realism, often serving as loving celebrations of animals that are commonly depicted as ugly or undesirable.  From homicidal cats in pop culture parodies to original animal hybrids, her paintings depict a world full of strange - and often funny - creatures.  Since earning her BFA from Otis in 2009, her work has been featured in galleries and private collections around the world, as well as on posters and album covers.
