Vintage Large and Ornate Horse Drawn Vehicle Step

Fabulous cut out moon & star design on the large 8 1/2 x 6 inch foot pad. This pad is adjustable means of the clamp and bolt on the underside. The bottom has numerals "1958-1" and letter "E" in a circle cast into it. The support bracket also has the letter "E" cast.

The support bracket is 27 1/2" long overall with the shorter arm being 20" long from the step end. There are no cracks, breaks, or repairs. A fine old horse drawn vehicle step.

Rescued and restored!   This unique carriage / buggy / coach / wagon step was heavily encrusted with rust when we acquired it. The step was frozen in placed and required days of soaking in penetrating oil and "applied persuation" to release it. We then sent it to our derusting electrolysis vat where, over a period of a week it was daily removed, scrubbed of loosed rust scaling and resubmerged until it was clean.

Then we used a fine wire wheel to polish it before applying primer and a coat of Rustoleum flat black paint. We used flat black, rather than any gloss as it can be easily repainted in other colors if desired by the purchaser.
