Product Description:
Osmo Door Oil is a special oil and wax combination, used as a treatment on wooden doors and general interior joinery. The Clear Satin version is designed to enhance the natural character of the wood and will tend to give a warm, rich colour whilst the new Raw Matt version has a small amount of white pigment in it designed to give a more natural appearance but is only suitable for light coloured woods. We strongly recommend always doing a test area on a small inconspicuous area before the main application.
Osmo Door Oil like the market leading Polyx oil is made with a base of natural plant oils and waxes. This leaves the surface protected against common household substances such as wine, beer, fizzy drinks, coffee, tea, fruit juices, milk and water in accordance with DIN 68861-1A (German industrial specification).

Ingredients
Based on natural vegetable oils (sunflower-oil, thistle-oil, soyabean-oil) and waxes (carnauba wax and candelilla wax), paraffins, lead-free siccatives (drying agents) and water-repellent additives; disaromatized white spirit (benzene-free). This product fulfils EU-regulation (2004/42/EC) according to the VOC limit value of max. 400 g/l (cat. A/e (2010).

Storage
Shelf life is 5 years or more if can is tightly closed. Store in a dry place. If thickened by frost it will regain a normal consistency under normal temperatures within 24-36 hours.
Preparation
The wooden surface must be clean and dry (max. 20% moisture content). Clean or lightly sand old microporous stains. Remove old varnish (use Osmo Paint Remover or sand down). If necessary sand down the surface using fine sand-paper (grit P120-150), remove dust carefully. Always wear a dust mask when sanding.
Compatibility
Osmo Door Oil can be applied over all Osmo Waxes.
Application
Osmo Door Oil is ready to use. Please do not thin. Shake well before use. Apply thinly, following the grain of the wood, with a brush designed for applying natural oils such as the Osmo range, Osmo Microfibre Roller or with a lint free cloth.
Leave to dry overnight for at least 8-10 hours. Allow for good ventilation. Apply second coat as above. Again, leave this coat to dry for at least 8-10 hours with good ventilation. If using a lint free cloth, apply 3-4 thin coats.
If a deeper satin finish is required, the surface can be polished using Osmo Liquid Wax Cleaner (also available as a spray).
Note: It is also possible to colour/stain the doors using Osmo Wood Wax Finish Transparent. (Please see other listing)
For some species of hardwoods or oily woods (like Afromosia, Doussie/Afzelia, IPE, Jatoba, Kambala/Iroko, Mahogany, Merbau, Rosewood, Walnut and Wenge), we recommend using Osmo Wood Wax Finish Clear Extra Thin 1101. A trial application is always recommended.
Cleaning of tools
Clean working utensils with Osmo Brush Cleaner (benzene-free) or white spirit.
Drying time
Osmo door oil takes approximately 8-10 hours for each coat (normal climatic conditions, 23°C /50%, rel. humidity) with good ventilation. Lower temperatures and/or high humidity and/or poor ventilation can increase the drying time.
Care and Maintenance
Surfaces that have been treated with Osmo Door Oil can be cleaned with water (ideally water mixed with Osmo Wash and Care) and wiped dry or Osmo Spray Cleaner.
To remove stubborn stains, use Osmo Liquid Wax Cleaner that both cleans and regenerates the surface.
Renovation
For renovation apply a thin coat of Osmo Door-Oil on clean, dry surface. No repair marks will be visible.

Returns
Returns are accepted. Returns must be started within 30 days of delivery. The cost of return postage is to be paid by the buyer. Please note that once a tin has been opened it cannot be returned as it is no longer in a sellable condition. All items should be returned in their original packaging using a suitable courier and we recommend ensuring the courier will insure you against any damage in transit.
