On the Roam, it will take some time to refocus it manually because of the roam having no video out.

It is a trick to remove the std lens also.

You need to heat up the original lens with a hair dryer for around 10 seconds, do not over heat or you can melt your outer threads that allow the lens cap to fit back on the camera.

You will need some real nice needle nose pliers to grip the lens on the side of it, & then over tighten the original contour lens to break the glue seal on it. 

After the seal is broke, then twist out the lens counter clockwise till it threads all the way out:

Now VERY CAREFULLY start to thread in the new lens while assuring its going in perfectly straight, do not force it, or cross threading will occur & your shaft will be ruined, & then you have a paper weight.

You can confirm it is going in straight by holding it up vertically to assure its seating correctly.

Tip: You will want to apply a little pressure while installing the new lens & turning it counter clockwise till you feel it seat perfectly in the threads. 

When that is confirmed then you can go ahead and start threading it in.

It should thread in pretty smoothly. 

If you notice you have to use some force, then it is not going in right.

Every install is different depending on the amount of glue the factory used on the original lens.

We may be able to still save your camera if you don't cross thread the new lens in too badly, & will allow you to send us your camera for proper installation, discounted heavily if you bought the lens from us & failed.

This is the correct way to focus the roam camera with any lens we carry, while recording a file on the SD card finding the correct focal point talking your way through the video.

If using a NV 2.2mm lens, Start @ 12:00 using a silver sharpie mark point for 12:00 setting,

then turn 4 times around the clock & its in between the 12 & 3

position after you have threaded it in 4 full turns clockwise.

you will then need to record a file on the SD card and then put it on

the computer with you narrating where your turns are to get the best

correct focus. you may need to do it a few times for perfect focus.

you want to make sure that you are focused out to 150ft range, so if

starts clean focus at 3ft away, and objects inside 3ft are a little

blurry.

You can also get creative with your focal points.

Now your lens shaft is ready for any lens we carry and also when

threading in the new lens, you need to thread it in first around 2-3mm

and then use teflon tape (white plumbers pipe thread)around the
