An original antique map titled "Parts of the 1st Ward of the City of Yonkers, Mt. St. Vincent and Riverdale. Plate 76 from the County Atlas of  Westchester, New York, published by J. B. Beers & Co., Assisted by S. W. Wilson and Others, 36 Vesey Street, New York 1872."

This map covers the area from Pier St. and Morris Street on the north, to the Hudson River on the west, to a little below the Christ Church and its parsonage on the south, to Parkhill Avenue and part of Moshulu avenue on the east.

There is lots of interesting detail on this map. Most houses show the property owner's name; some properties even show the layout of the driveway and the amounbt of acreage. Also shown: Hotels, Blacksmith Shops (B.S.S.), churches and parsonages, Hudson River railroad and railroad stations, springs, Yonkers Skating Park, Sisters of Charity property, etc.

Family names include: Binns, Odell, Ketchum, Bates, James, Schermerhorn, Bettner, Jones, Randolph,  Curtbert, Cortlandt, Woodman, Babcock, Atherton, Morris, Bend, Spaulding, Duke, WIlliams, Franklin, Stone, Colgate, Apppleton, Forrest, Bechstein, Post, Knowlton, Walbridge,  Cornell, Crisfield, Rollins, Radford, Taylor, Bruce, Lowerre, Minzesheimer, Bills, Cornell, Bechstein, Simnpson, Sloan, Ludlow, Lawrence, Slater, White, Hutchinson, Rosenthal, Cleveland, Brown, Curtbert, and many more.

The map is 14 inches by 17.5 inches. Condition: Good. Handcolored.

The map is presently nicely shrinkwrapped ... I don't know how to photograph it without having the flash show up on the print.
