The Dark Brown Tortoiseshell and the Brown Tortoiseshell have cream patches in the pattern. Whereas the Red/Black Tortoiseshell in a finer pattern texture with no Cream patches.

Points to consider when choosing a Tortoiseshell plate; generally if the your guitar body is light in colour e.g Olympic White then a darker Tortoiseshell works well. Conversely a Black Body works well with the Brown Tortoiseshell. Please also consider the colour of the neck; Rosewood fret boards work well with the darker Torts unless it is a 'reddy' Rosewood then the Brown Tortoiseshell maybe more suitable. Maple necks go well with the darker Torts but is all down to your personal taste :-)

NB Due to the nature of the Tortoiseshell plates they are all one-offs with individual patterms and will vary to those shown in the photos.

When fitting ANY after-market Scratch plate you may need to make some small adjustments, filing and positioning to get the best fit on your guitar.

If you are unsure of the fit on your guitar we can send you a paper template to try against your guitar first.

This plate is for USA Standard Jazz Basses and does not fit the Deluxe version, which is a smaller version.

May also fit most import Jazz Bass Style guitars, including Fender Squiers.
Some drilling of one or two holes maybe required on import style Jazz Basses due to the many differences of hole spacing by worldwide guitar manufacturers.

The photo shows the Scratch Plates with the protective film covering in place and this should be removed after installation.
